Weights.gg shut down. The best alternative, and how to keep your voice models.
What happened. Weights announced its closure in January 2026 and went dark on 31 March 2026. The site, the hosted tools and the entire hosted model library went with it. The Replay app is still available to download. The team reportedly joined OpenAI. Anyone whose models lived only in a Weights account lost them.
The lesson worth taking from it. The models were never really yours. They lived on someone else's servers, behind someone else's account, funded by someone else's runway. When the runway ended, so did access. A local tool cannot do that to you: the model is a file on your disk, and a company closing has no effect on a file you already have.

How to use your Weights.gg models now
- Find your exported models. Search your computer for files ending in
.pth(and.indexif you saved one). Those are your Weights voice models, and they still work. - Back them up. Copy them to a folder you control, plus a cloud drive or external disk, so they cannot disappear again.
- Install a local RVC app. Download Xport Studio for Mac (Apple Silicon, macOS 15 or later) or Windows 10 or later. Free to download, no Python.
- Load the model. Drag the
.pthinto the Library. The Voice Modeling Pack downloads once, the first time you convert. - Convert a vocal. Load a dry vocal, pick the model and convert. Going from a male voice to a female model? Raise the pitch about 12 semitones. Everything runs on your own machine.
Weights.gg text to speech, offline
Weights let you type a line and hear it in a voice model. Xport Studio does the same with the models you saved: open Text to Speech, pick your .pth from the Library, type, and press Generate. A neural voice reads the line and your RVC model converts it, on your own computer, with no queue and no account to lose.

What to do now
A .pth is a standard RVC model file. Drag it into Xport Studio's Library and it loads. Nothing about the file depended on Weights being online, so anything you saved locally still works exactly as it did. Xport Studio runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 15 or later, and on Windows 10 or later.
Copy the folder somewhere durable. These files are the only copies that still exist for models that were removed with the platform.
Train Clone builds an RVC model from clean vocal samples on your own machine, and the result is a .pth you keep. Roughly ten minutes of isolated, dry vocal is enough for a usable model.
Community repositories on Hugging Face and the AI Hub community still host public models. Xport loads any standard RVC .pth from disk.
On your computer. The Voice Modeling Pack downloads once, then every conversion is local. No queue, no upload, no per-conversion limit, and it keeps working with the internet off.
On their servers, subject to their uptime, their pricing changes and their continued existence.
The models are .pth files in your own folders. Pro is a one-time $79 purchase, so there is no subscription to lapse and nothing to revoke.
Access to models inside an account. Access ends when the subscription ends, or when the company does.
We do not host a public celebrity model library, which is the exact exposure that made Weights hard to defend. The tool is for your own voice and models you have the right to use.
An open library with no consent verification. By their own reporting this became the platform's central legal problem as voice-likeness law tightened.

Why did Weights.gg close?
