How it works
How to mute vocals or drums on a YouTube video

Add it to Chrome
Install Stem Supply from the Chrome Web Store. Right after install it downloads its AI model once, about 166 MB.

Click its toolbar icon once per tab
Open a YouTube video. Chrome needs one click on the Stem Supply icon in your toolbar (under the puzzle piece if it is not pinned) before it can use that tab's audio.

Press a mute and let it learn the song
It has to hear the song once. On most modern computers it plays the video silently at 2x, then starts it again without that part. Without WebGPU it learns at normal speed.

The tempo finder shows a song's BPM after a few seconds of music. Type the tempo you want and it plays at that BPM in the same key. One click plays any YouTube song slowed down with a real convolution reverb, or as nightcore, sped up and pitched up using native browser speed. Custom sets your own speed, pitch, and reverb, so daycore works too.

How it works, honestly
An AI model on your computer splits the audio playing in your tab. It never downloads the song.

FAQ
Is Stem Supply really free?
Yes. No account, no credits, no trial, and no paywall on any button. It is made by Xport Studio, and our desktop app has a free tier too.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The AI runs inside your browser on your own computer. It processes the tab's audio in memory and never saves it to disk or sends it anywhere. The only download is the AI model, once, right after install. Details are in our privacy policy.
Why does it need to hear the song first?
Stem Supply never downloads the song file. It separates the audio your tab plays, so it has to hear the song once. With WebGPU (most modern computers) it plays the video silently at 2x, so the wait is about half the song, then starts it again with your mutes. Without WebGPU it learns at normal speed while you hear the full mix, so the wait is at least as long as the song.
Does it work on Spotify or Apple Music?
Not today. Its buttons only run on youtube.com, and we would rather keep it that small.
Can I download the separated stems?
No. The extension only changes what you hear in the tab. It never saves or exports YouTube audio. To split your own songs into stem files, use the free Xport Studio desktop app.
Can it find the BPM of a YouTube song?
Yes. Open Custom and the tempo finder shows the song's BPM after a few seconds of music, measured on your computer. If it lands on half or double the real tempo, the ½ and ×2 buttons fix it in one click. You can switch the tempo finder off if you do not need it.
Can I change the tempo without changing the key?
Yes. Type the BPM you want next to Play at and the song plays at that tempo in the same key, anywhere from half to one and a half times its speed. Original puts it back.
Can I use the mutes with Slowed + Reverb or Nightcore?
Not together. The mutes need the video at normal 1x speed, so any other speed, a typed tempo included, pauses them and plays the full mix until you go back to 1x (Original or Reset). Pitch and reverb do work with the mutes.
