Why convert AAC to OGG?
OGG Vorbis is the format many game engines, web audio projects and open-source applications are built around, and some of them do not support AAC well. Converting gives you a file those tools accept. Convert when you are adding audio to a game, a website, or an app that asks for OGG. For ordinary listening on phones and computers, AAC or M4A is usually the better choice.
Quality and file size
Both formats are lossy, so this is a transcode that adds a small amount of generation loss on top of the AAC encode. The OGG cannot restore detail the AAC removed. Choose a high bitrate such as 256 or 320 kbps to keep the extra loss inaudible. File sizes will be broadly similar at comparable bitrates. If you have a lossless original, convert from that instead for the cleanest OGG.

Why would I convert AAC to OGG?
Mainly for game development, web audio and open-source software that expect OGG Vorbis. For everyday playback on phones and computers there is little reason to switch away from AAC.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly. Your file never leaves your device, and we never see it, store it, or train on it.
Will the OGG sound worse?
Slightly, in theory, because you are re-encoding lossy audio. At 256 or 320 kbps the difference is inaudible for most material and most listeners.
Does OGG work on iPhone?
Not in Apple's built-in apps, which do not play OGG Vorbis. If the file is meant for an iPhone or Mac, keep it as AAC or M4A.
